R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The faculty, staff, and administrators of the Katy
Independent School District may take great pride in their continued
ranking by the website Niche.com as one of the top school districts
in the Houston area; and
WHEREAS, Drawing on publicly available data and on parent and
student reviews, Niche.com evaluates 10,000 school districts from
across the nation; the site bases its rankings on a wide range of
factors in order to provide a fully rounded assessment of a
district's strength and vitality; and
WHEREAS, Katy ISD is one of the fastest-growing school
districts in the state, with a current enrollment of more than
70,000 students; Niche.com has ranked this forward-looking
district as either the number one or number two district in the
Houston area since 2015; the district has received an A+ in
academics, teacher quality, educational outcomes, and student
culture and diversity, in addition to solid scores in food, health
and safety, resources and facilities, sports and fitness, and
extracurricular activities; in addition, it currently ranks as one
of the 20 best school districts in the Lone Star State, and its
graduation rate is well above the national average; and
WHEREAS, Through their unwavering commitment to the students
of Katy ISD, the district's faculty, staff, and administrators have
played an essential role in preparing many young Texans for the
challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and they may take
great pride in this prestigious recognition of their efforts; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Katy Independent School
District on being ranked as one of the top school districts in the
Houston metro area by Niche.com and extend to the district's
teachers, students, and staff sincere best wishes for continued
success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Katy ISD as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
