R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The members of the Tuloso-Midway High School
spelling and vocabulary team distinguished themselves with their
performances at the 2017 University Interscholastic League
District 30-5A Academics Spring Meet; and
WHEREAS, The team was composed of Tristan Salinas, George
Duran, Ace Castillo, and Jacob Ramos, and their combined efforts
earned the team third place overall; moreover, Mr. Salinas placed
third in individual competition, earning advancement to the
regional contest; the quartet benefited from the skillful guidance
of coach Maria Gonzales; and
WHEREAS, With their fine showing in the UIL district
competition, these bright young Texans have proudly represented
Tuloso-Midway High School, and the dedication they have
demonstrated is sure to serve them well in the years ahead; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Tuloso-Midway
High School spelling and vocabulary team on their participation in
the 2017 UIL District 30-5A Academics Spring Meet and extend to them
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
