5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, David Frishman of Katy, an esteemed civic leader and |

6 | 7 | | volunteer, has been presented with the Rotary International Service |

7 | 8 | | and Dedication Award; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade was conferred on |

9 | 10 | | Mr. Frishman in April 2017 in recognition of his contributions to |

10 | 11 | | Rotary International's worldwide efforts to combat polio and his |
---|
11 | 12 | | leadership of the Katy Rotary Club's efforts to create the Freedom |
---|
12 | 13 | | Park Memorial Tower; this striking monument honors those who lost |
---|
13 | 14 | | their lives in the events of 9/11, as well as the men and women who |
---|
14 | 15 | | serve in our nation's armed forces; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Frishman has been a member of the Katy Rotary |
---|
16 | 17 | | Club since 1974; he has served as the club's president and as the |
---|
17 | 18 | | District 5890 assistant governor and assistant membership chair; he |
---|
18 | 19 | | is currently co-chair of the District Polio Plus Project; and |
---|
19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Deeply engaged in civic affairs, Mr. Frishman has |
---|
20 | 21 | | also served as vice chair of the board of the Houston Metropolitan |
---|
21 | 22 | | Transportation Authority, as a member of the Katy Independent |
---|
22 | 23 | | School District board, and as chair of the City of Katy Planning and |
---|
23 | 24 | | Zoning Commission; a 1972 graduate of the University of Houston |
---|
24 | 25 | | Bates College of Law and now in private practice, he formerly served |
---|
25 | 26 | | as city attorney for Brookshire, Pattison, and Fulshear; and |

26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, David Frishman's dedication to the mission of the |

27 | 28 | | Rotary Club has been of significant benefit both to his community |

28 | 29 | | and to the fight against polio, and he may take deserved pride in |
---|
29 | 30 | | this heartfelt recognition from his fellow Rotarians; now, |
