 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, David Frishman of Katy, an esteemed civic leader and
 volunteer, has been presented with the Rotary International Service
 and Dedication Award; and
 WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade was conferred on
 Mr. Frishman in April 2017 in recognition of his contributions to
 Rotary International's worldwide efforts to combat polio and his
 leadership of the Katy Rotary Club's efforts to create the Freedom
 Park Memorial Tower; this striking monument honors those who lost
 their lives in the events of 9/11, as well as the men and women who
 serve in our nation's armed forces; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Frishman has been a member of the Katy Rotary
 Club since 1974; he has served as the club's president and as the
 District 5890 assistant governor and assistant membership chair; he
 is currently co-chair of the District Polio Plus Project; and
 WHEREAS, Deeply engaged in civic affairs, Mr. Frishman has
 also served as vice chair of the board of the Houston Metropolitan
 Transportation Authority, as a member of the Katy Independent
 School District board, and as chair of the City of Katy Planning and
 Zoning Commission; a 1972 graduate of the University of Houston
 Bates College of Law and now in private practice, he formerly served
 as city attorney for Brookshire, Pattison, and Fulshear; and
 WHEREAS, David Frishman's dedication to the mission of the
 Rotary Club has been of significant benefit both to his community
 and to the fight against polio, and he may take deserved pride in
 this heartfelt recognition from his fellow Rotarians; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate David Frishman on his receipt of
 the Rotary International Service and Dedication Award and extend to
 him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Frishman as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
