R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, June Rodriguez has been presented with a Superstar
Award by the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M
University--Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS)
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented
students; in receiving a Superstar Award, Ms. Rodriguez was
recognized for helping her fellow students, demonstrating
leadership qualities, and being highly involved in campus
activities; and
WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Ms. Rodriguez is studying
psychology in pursuit of a career as a certified child life
specialist; she has distinguished herself at the campus through her
service as president-elect and event coordinator of the TRIO
Islanders; in all her endeavors, she is supported by the love and
encouragement of her husband, Jason; and
WHEREAS, June Rodriguez is indeed deserving of this
prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate June Rodriguez on her receipt of a
TRIO Islanders Organization Superstar Award and extend to her
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Rodriguez as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
