H.R. No. 1945
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lilian C. Arroyo Lopez has been presented with an
Outstanding Supplemental Instruction Leader Award from the First in
the World program at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, First in the World is part of the university's
Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which
furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to
low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students; in
receiving an Outstanding Supplemental Instruction Leader Award,
Ms. Lopez was recognized for her notable achievements within the
program and her record of academic excellence; and
WHEREAS, A native of Mexico who became a U.S. citizen in 2015,
Ms. Lopez is currently a senior at TAMU--CC, where she is pursuing a
degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in pre-physical and
occupational therapy; following her graduation, she will teach high
school science for the Dallas Independent School District as a paid
intern while working toward her teaching certification; and
WHEREAS, Lilian Lopez is indeed deserving of this prestigious
honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lilian C. Arroyo Lopez on her
receipt of a First in the World Outstanding Supplemental
Instruction Leader Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Lopez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
