H.R. No. 1946 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Imani C. Tebo has been presented with a Rising Star Award from the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving a Rising Star Award, Ms. Tebo was recognized for both her academic success and her contributions to the community; and WHEREAS, The daughter of Jessica and Rey Barrera, Ms. Tebo is in her sophomore year at Richard King High School, where she participates in the marching, jazz, and concert bands, the German club, and the German National Honor Society; following her graduation, she plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering; and WHEREAS, Imani Tebo is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Imani C. Tebo on her receipt of a TRIO Islanders Organization Rising Star Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Tebo as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
