| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the |

| 10 | 11 | | initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing |

| 11 | 12 | | resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented |

| 12 | 13 | | students; in receiving a Rising Star Award, Miquel was recognized |

| 13 | 14 | | for both his academic success and his contributions to the |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The son of Jessica and Rey Barrera, Miquel is a |

| 16 | 17 | | seventh grader at Haas Middle School, where he participates on the |

| 17 | 18 | | football and basketball teams and in the concert band; he plans to |

| 18 | 19 | | eventually attend Texas A&M University in College Station to pursue |

| 19 | 20 | | a degree in mechanical engineering; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Miquel Tebo is indeed deserving of this prestigious |
