H.R. No. 1948
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Miquel J. Tebo has been presented with a Rising Star
Award from the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M
University--Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS)
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented
students; in receiving a Rising Star Award, Miquel was recognized
for both his academic success and his contributions to the
community; and
WHEREAS, The son of Jessica and Rey Barrera, Miquel is a
seventh grader at Haas Middle School, where he participates on the
football and basketball teams and in the concert band; he plans to
eventually attend Texas A&M University in College Station to pursue
a degree in mechanical engineering; and
WHEREAS, Miquel Tebo is indeed deserving of this prestigious
honor, and he may look forward to a future bright with promise; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Miquel J. Tebo on his receipt of a
TRIO Islanders Organization Rising Star Award and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Miquel as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
