5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Melissa Zamora has been presented with an |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The SSS-STEM program is part of the university's |

9 | 10 | | Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which |

10 | 11 | | furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to |

11 | 12 | | low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students; in |
---|
12 | 13 | | receiving an Outstanding Award, Ms. Zamora was recognized for high |

13 | 14 | | academic achievement; and |

14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Having previously earned an associate degree in |
---|
15 | 16 | | biology from Del Mar College, Ms. Zamora is currently pursuing a |
---|
16 | 17 | | degree in environmental science with a minor in biology as a senior |

17 | 18 | | at TAMU--CC; during her time at TAMU--CC, she has distinguished |

18 | 19 | | herself through her leadership as president of the Islander Green |
---|
19 | 20 | | Team and as facilitator of the university's first composting |
---|
20 | 21 | | program; after graduating, she hopes to work as an educator in the |
---|
21 | 22 | | environmental sciences with a focus on wildlife conservation and |

22 | 23 | | habitat remediation; and |

23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Melissa Zamora is indeed deserving of this |

24 | 25 | | prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with |
