45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Melissa Zamora has been presented with an
67 Outstanding Award from the Student Support Services--STEM program
78 at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and
89 WHEREAS, The SSS-STEM program is part of the university's
910 Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which
1011 furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to
1112 low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students; in
1213 receiving an Outstanding Award, Ms. Zamora was recognized for high
1314 academic achievement; and
1415 WHEREAS, Having previously earned an associate degree in
1516 biology from Del Mar College, Ms. Zamora is currently pursuing a
1617 degree in environmental science with a minor in biology as a senior
1718 at TAMU--CC; during her time at TAMU--CC, she has distinguished
1819 herself through her leadership as president of the Islander Green
1920 Team and as facilitator of the university's first composting
2021 program; after graduating, she hopes to work as an educator in the
2122 environmental sciences with a focus on wildlife conservation and
2223 habitat remediation; and
2324 WHEREAS, Melissa Zamora is indeed deserving of this
2425 prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with
2526 promise; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby congratulate Melissa Zamora on her receipt of a
2829 Student Support Services--STEM Outstanding Award and extend to her
2930 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Ms. Zamora as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3233 House of Representatives.
