45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Nannette Underwood of Fort Worth is retiring from
67 Rosemont Middle School on June 3, 2017, drawing to a close a notable
78 career in education that has spanned 22 years; and
89 WHEREAS, Currently a seventh- and eighth-grade U.S. history
910 teacher, Ms. Underwood first joined the Rosemont faculty in 1996,
1011 when she accepted a position with the special education department;
1112 in her 21 years at the school, she has coached the girls' basketball
1213 team and sponsored the cheerleading team, the yearbook staff, the
1314 Chess Club, and the Whiz Quiz team; in addition, she helped organize
1415 and supervise a spring break trip to Washington, D.C.,
1516 Philadelphia, New York City, and Gettysburg for 40 students in
1617 2004; and
1718 WHEREAS, In recognition of her many contributions,
1819 Ms. Underwood was named the Rosemont Teacher of the Year in 2005;
1920 she has also received a number of grants to pursue professional
2021 development opportunities in various locations around the country;
2122 and
2223 WHEREAS, Nannette Underwood has worked to instill in her
2324 students a lifelong love of learning, and she may indeed reflect
2425 with pride on a career well spent as she embarks on the next
2526 exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby congratulate Nannette Underwood on the occasion
2829 of her retirement from Rosemont Middle School and extend to her
2930 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Ms. Underwood as an expression of high regard by the
3233 Texas House of Representatives.
