| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Carlos Pimentel has ably served his fellow Texans as |

| 7 | 8 | | during the 85th Legislative Session through The University of Texas |

| 8 | 9 | | Rio Grande Valley Legislative Internship Program; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Pimentel has provided |

| 10 | 11 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |

| 11 | 12 | | in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A political science major at UTRGV, Mr. Pimentel |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | holds membership in the university's Pre-Law Society, and he has |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | furthered his understanding of his field by interning at several |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | law offices; he has also contributed to his community as a program |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | coordinator with Edinburg Parks and Recreation, as a recreation |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | instructor at Oklahoma City Community College, and as a volunteer |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | for such worthwhile organizations as the Laurie P. Andrews PAWS |

| 21 | 22 | | Center and the Interact Club; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his |

| 23 | 24 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is |

| 24 | 25 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
