H.R. No. 2048 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Carlos Pimentel has ably served his fellow Texans as an intern in the office of State Representative Terry Canales during the 85th Legislative Session through The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Legislative Internship Program; and WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Pimentel has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and WHEREAS, A political science major at UTRGV, Mr. Pimentel holds membership in the university's Pre-Law Society, and he has furthered his understanding of his field by interning at several law offices; he has also contributed to his community as a program coordinator with Edinburg Parks and Recreation, as a recreation instructor at Oklahoma City Community College, and as a volunteer for such worthwhile organizations as the Laurie P. Andrews PAWS Center and the Interact Club; and WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby commend Carlos Pimentel for his service as a legislative intern in the office of State Representative Terry Canales and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Pimentel as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
