H.R. No. 2056
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Marissa Danielle Marciel has been presented with a
Rising Star Award from the Student Support Services Teacher Prep
program at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, SSS Teacher Prep is part of the university's
Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which
furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to
low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students; in
receiving a Rising Star Award, Ms. Marciel was recognized for her
notable academic achievements; and
WHEREAS, A senior at TAMU--CC, Ms. Marciel is working toward
a degree in education; she is also a valued member of Omega Phi
Alpha National Service Sorority, which she has served as secretary,
membership director, and president, and has been active in the
Islander Catholic and Student Volunteer Connection organizations
on campus; after graduation, she plans to continue her studies at
The University of Texas at Austin in pursuit of a career in school
administration; and
WHEREAS, Marissa Marciel is indeed deserving of this
prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Marissa Danielle Marciel on her
receipt of a Student Support Services Teacher Prep Rising Star
Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Marciel as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
