45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Orquidia Medina has been presented with an
67 Outstanding Award from the Student Support Services--STEM program
78 at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and
89 WHEREAS, SSS-STEM is part of the university's Programs for
910 Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the
1011 goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income,
1112 first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving an
1213 Outstanding Award, Ms. Medina was recognized for her academic
1314 achievements as a student majoring in a science, technology,
1415 engineering, or mathematics field of study; and
1516 WHEREAS, An Austin native, Ms. Medina is a junior at
1617 TAMU--CC, where she is pursuing a degree in biomedical science with
1718 a view to becoming a veterinarian; she serves as the historian of
1819 the Golden Key International Honour Society and as a representative
1920 to the University Council of Student Organizations; and
2021 WHEREAS, Orquidia Medina is indeed deserving of this
2122 prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with
2223 promise; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Orquidia Medina on her receipt of a
2526 Student Support Services--STEM Outstanding Award and extend to her
2627 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Ms. Medina as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2930 House of Representatives.
