| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Laura Sylvia Cardenas has been presented with |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, SSS Teacher Prep is part of the university's |

| 9 | 10 | | Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which |

| 10 | 11 | | furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to |

| 11 | 12 | | low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students; in |

| 12 | 13 | | receiving the Superstar Award, Ms. Cardenas was recognized for |

| 13 | 14 | | helping her fellow students, demonstrating exceptional leadership |

| 14 | 15 | | qualities, and participating in a variety of campus activities, and |

| 15 | 16 | | she was honored with the Outstanding Award for her record of |

| 16 | 17 | | academic excellence; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A senior at TAMU--CC, Ms. Cardenas is working toward |

| 18 | 19 | | a degree in interdisciplinary studies; she has distinguished |

| 19 | 20 | | herself on campus as an officer in the Student Reading Council and |

| 20 | 21 | | as a leader in the SSS Teacher Prep program; after graduation, she |

| 21 | 22 | | plans to pursue a career as an elementary school teacher; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Laura Cardenas is indeed deserving of special |

| 23 | 24 | | recognition, and she may look forward to a future bright with |
