H.R. No. 2140
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Aissa Garza has been presented with an Outstanding
Award from the Project GRAD program at Texas A&M University--Corpus
Christi; and
WHEREAS, Project GRAD is part of the university's Programs
for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the
goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income,
first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving an
Outstanding Award, Ms. Garza was recognized for her record of
academic excellence; and
WHEREAS, A freshman at TAMU--CC, this notable young Texan is
pursuing a degree in nursing; she has contributed to the university
community as a New Student Orientation leader, and she is
participating in the Project GRAD Summer Prep Academy; and
WHEREAS, Aissa Garza is indeed deserving of this prestigious
honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Aissa Garza on her receipt of a
Project GRAD Outstanding Award and extend to her sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
