| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Cushman will take office on June 1, 2017, |

| 10 | 11 | | bringing with her knowledge and skills gained during her time as a |

| 11 | 12 | | ship boatswain; she is a certified lifeguard and SCUBA diver, and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | she has also completed Sea Scout Experience Advanced Leadership |

| 13 | 14 | | Training and National Youth Leadership Training programs; and |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Along with achieving distinction in the Sea Scouts, |

| 15 | 16 | | Ms. Cushman has excelled as a participant in the STEM Academy at |

| 16 | 17 | | Robert E. Lee High School, where she was recently recognized as the |

| 17 | 18 | | STEM Student of the Month; a member of the National Honor Society, |

| 18 | 19 | | she is also a skilled oboist, and she has competed with the varsity |

| 19 | 20 | | tennis and junior varsity volleyball teams; in addition, she is a |

| 20 | 21 | | valued member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her scouting career, Savannah Cushman |

| 22 | 23 | | has upheld the highest standards of the Sea Scouts, and she may |

| 23 | 24 | | indeed reflect with pride on her notable achievements as she takes |

| 24 | 25 | | on her new role as regional boatswain; now, therefore, be it |
