45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Austin "Rose" Heilman has been presented with a
67 Rising Star Award by the McNair Scholars Program at Texas A&M
78 University--Corpus Christi; and
89 WHEREAS, The McNair Scholars Program is part of the
910 university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS)
1011 initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing
1112 resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented
1213 students; in receiving a Rising Star Award, Ms. Heilman was
1314 recognized for her progress in academic achievements and program
1415 requirements; and
1516 WHEREAS, A senior at TAMU--CC, where she is currently
1617 majoring in psychology, Ms. Heilman has been selected to present
1718 her student research at the 2017 Association for Psychological
1819 Science convention in Boston; following her graduation, she plans
1920 to pursue a Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Houston; and
2021 WHEREAS, Rose Heilman is indeed deserving of this prestigious
2122 honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise;
2223 now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Austin "Rose" Heilman on her
2526 receipt of a McNair Scholars Program Rising Star Award and extend to
2627 her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
2728 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2829 prepared for Ms. Heilman as an expression of high regard by the
2930 Texas House of Representatives.
