| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The McNair Scholars Program is part of the |

| 9 | 10 | | university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) |

| 10 | 11 | | initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing |

| 11 | 12 | | resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented |

| 12 | 13 | | students; in receiving the Superstar Award, Mr. Lewis was |

| 13 | 14 | | recognized for helping other students, demonstrating leadership, |

| 14 | 15 | | and being active in campus and program activities; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lewis is graduating this spring with a |

| 16 | 17 | | bachelor's degree in chemistry, and in the fall of 2017, he will |

| 17 | 18 | | begin working toward his Ph.D. at the University of California, |

| 18 | 19 | | Riverside; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Corbin Lewis is indeed deserving of this prestigious |
