H.R. No. 2338
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Corbin Lewis has been presented with the Superstar
Award from the McNair Scholars Program at Texas A&M
University--Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, The McNair Scholars Program is part of the
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS)
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented
students; in receiving the Superstar Award, Mr. Lewis was
recognized for helping other students, demonstrating leadership,
and being active in campus and program activities; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Lewis is graduating this spring with a
bachelor's degree in chemistry, and in the fall of 2017, he will
begin working toward his Ph.D. at the University of California,
Riverside; and
WHEREAS, Corbin Lewis is indeed deserving of this prestigious
honor, and he may look forward to a future bright with promise; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Corbin Lewis on his receipt of the
McNair Scholars Program Superstar Award and extend to him sincere
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

ESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Lewis as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
