H.R. No. 2380
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Genesis Murcia has ably served her fellow Texans as
a legislative aide in the office of State Representative Eddie
Rodriguez during the 85th Legislative Session; and
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Murcia has provided
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks,
such as meeting with advocacy groups and performing constituent,
administrative, and legislative work; in addition to gaining
valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned
more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens
of the Lone Star State; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Murcia is a rising senior at The University of
Texas at Austin, where she studies government; passionate about
voting rights and the rights of immigrants, she plans to attend law
school with the goal of becoming an advocate for vulnerable
populations; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Genesis Murcia for her service as a
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Eddie
Rodriguez and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Murcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
