H.R. No. 2471
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Graduation from high school is one of life's pivotal
milestones, and Samantha Morales is celebrating that significant
achievement as a member of the Class of 2017 at the Americas High
School Libertas Academy in El Paso; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Morales is among the students who have completed
their secondary education in the academy's Advanced Academics
Program, which features specialized curricula focused on law,
government, and public administration; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Rafael Morales and Sugey Huerta,
Ms. Morales played varsity soccer for four years; she also competed
as a state finalist in speech and debate in 2016 and 2017 and served
the school's team as captain; she is a member of the National
Technical Honor Society and the National Honor Society and an
executive officer of Libertas Academy; after graduation, she plans
to attend Arizona State University and then go to law school; and
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this
outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join her family and
friends in recognizing her as she embarks on a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Samantha Morales on the occasion of
her graduation from the Americas High School Libertas Academy and
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Morales as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
