| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Eddie |

| 6 | 7 | | Bob Vantreese of Waxahachie, who passed away on May 8, 2017, at the |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of John Elbert and Virda Julia Hullett |

| 9 | 10 | | Vantreese, Bob Vantreese was born on July 28, 1936, and grew up in |

| 10 | 11 | | the town of Red Oak; after graduating from high school, he served |

| 11 | 12 | | his country as a member of the United States Army; on December 23, |

| 12 | 13 | | 1955, he married the former Margie Ann Martin, with whom he shared a |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | rewarding union that spanned six decades, before her passing; he |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | was the proud father of two children, David and Juanita, and with |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | the passing years, he delighted in seeing his family grow to include |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Vantreese's faith provided him with strength |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | and hope after he was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer at |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | age 32; told that he had less than a year to live, he went on to |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | outlive that prediction by nearly a half century, and he cherished |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | each day as a blessing, never to be taken for granted; he was an |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | active member and a leader in his congregation at Forreston Baptist |

| 23 | 24 | | Church; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, A man who devoted himself wholeheartedly to his |

| 25 | 26 | | family, his faith, and his country, Bob Vantreese leaves his loved |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | ones with countless treasured memories, and he will forever hold a |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Eddie Bob Vantreese |
