 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Eddie
 Bob Vantreese of Waxahachie, who passed away on May 8, 2017, at the
 age of 80; and
 WHEREAS, The son of John Elbert and Virda Julia Hullett
 Vantreese, Bob Vantreese was born on July 28, 1936, and grew up in
 the town of Red Oak; after graduating from high school, he served
 his country as a member of the United States Army; on December 23,
 1955, he married the former Margie Ann Martin, with whom he shared a
 rewarding union that spanned six decades, before her passing; he
 was the proud father of two children, David and Juanita, and with
 the passing years, he delighted in seeing his family grow to include
 four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Vantreese's faith provided him with strength
 and hope after he was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer at
 age 32; told that he had less than a year to live, he went on to
 outlive that prediction by nearly a half century, and he cherished
 each day as a blessing, never to be taken for granted; he was an
 active member and a leader in his congregation at Forreston Baptist
 Church; and
 WHEREAS, A man who devoted himself wholeheartedly to his
 family, his faith, and his country, Bob Vantreese leaves his loved
 ones with countless treasured memories, and he will forever hold a
 special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Eddie Bob Vantreese
 and extend sincere sympathy to his relatives and friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bob
 Vantreese.
