| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Elva Morato is retiring as an attendance clerk with |

| 6 | 7 | | Lucio Middle School on June 7, 2017, drawing to a close a notable |

| 7 | 8 | | career with the Brownsville Independent School District that has |

| 8 | 9 | | spanned a quarter century; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A native of Brownsville, Ms. Morato first joined the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | district as a member of the staff at Faulk Middle School; in 2001, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | she transferred to Lucio Middle School, where she has served as an |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | attendance clerk for the past 16 years; while working full time, she |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from The University of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Texas at Brownsville, graduating in 2013; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Retirement offers Ms. Morato a welcome opportunity |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | to spend more time with her family, which includes her husband and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | her four children and three grandchildren; she also plans to focus |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | on her new business, Arnie's Winghouse, in Los Fresnos; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedication, professionalism, and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | commitment to excellence, Elva Morato has made vital contributions |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | to Brownsville ISD, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | exceptional record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 24 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Elva Morato on her retirement from |

| 25 | 26 | | the Brownsville Independent School District and extend to her |

| 26 | 27 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
