H.R. No. 2513
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Elva Morato is retiring as an attendance clerk with
Lucio Middle School on June 7, 2017, drawing to a close a notable
career with the Brownsville Independent School District that has
spanned a quarter century; and
WHEREAS, A native of Brownsville, Ms. Morato first joined the
district as a member of the staff at Faulk Middle School; in 2001,
she transferred to Lucio Middle School, where she has served as an
attendance clerk for the past 16 years; while working full time, she
earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from The University of
Texas at Brownsville, graduating in 2013; and
WHEREAS, Retirement offers Ms. Morato a welcome opportunity
to spend more time with her family, which includes her husband and
her four children and three grandchildren; she also plans to focus
on her new business, Arnie's Winghouse, in Los Fresnos; and
WHEREAS, Through her dedication, professionalism, and
commitment to excellence, Elva Morato has made vital contributions
to Brownsville ISD, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her
exceptional record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Elva Morato on her retirement from
the Brownsville Independent School District and extend to her
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Morato as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
