| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dexter K. Sagebiel retired as Llano County Tax |

| 6 | 7 | | Assessor-Collector on December 31, 2016, drawing to a close an |

| 7 | 8 | | outstanding career in public service; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born in San Francisco in 1944, Mr. Sagebiel grew up |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | in Fredericksburg and Llano; the son of a rancher, he was active in |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | 4-H and FFA during his years at Llano High School, and after |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | graduating in 1963, he studied animal science at Tarleton College |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and Texas A&M University, where he was president and treasurer of |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the Saddle and Sirloin Club, a member of Gamma Sigma Delta, and a |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | national champion in wool judging; he earned his bachelor's degree |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | with honors in 1967; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, From 1967 to 1970, Mr. Sagebiel was the assistant |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | extension agent in Taylor County for the Texas A&M AgriLife |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Extension Service, and he went on to serve as the county extension |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | agent in Blanco County from 1970 until his retirement from the |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | service in 1985; he subsequently returned to Llano, where he helped |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | on the family ranch and worked for the Llano Livestock Auction and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | the Llano Central Appraisal District; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Sagebiel became the Llano County Tax |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Assessor-Collector in 2001, and over the next decade and a half, his |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | skilled management of his office earned him the respect and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | appreciation of fellow citizens and county officials alike; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, With the passing years, Dexter Sagebiel and his |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | wife, Jennabeth, have seen their fine family grow to include two |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | daughters and their spouses, Trudy and Steven Vollmar and Terri and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | Jamey Vogel, as well as three grandchildren and a great-grandson; |

| 31 | 32 | | and |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Sagebiel's commitment to the highest ideals of |

| 33 | 34 | | public service has greatly benefited the people of Llano County, |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he |

| 35 | 36 | | embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, |

| 37 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 38 | 39 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Dexter K. Sagebiel on his |

| 39 | 40 | | retirement as Llano County Tax Assessor-Collector and extend to him |

| 40 | 41 | | sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
