H.R. No. 258
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Ron Wilson is concluding his term on the Llano
County Commissioners Court in 2016, and he is indeed deserving of
recognition for his notable public service; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Llano High School Class of 1969 and a
1970 graduate of the McMahon College of Court Reporting, Mr. Wilson
enjoyed a successful career in court stenography that spanned four
decades; in addition to a six-year stint in the U.S. Army J.A.G.
Corps, he worked in courts in Alabama and Texas and established his
own court reporting firm in Dallas; the recipient of several awards
for his skill at his craft, he has held membership in the National
Court Reporters Association and the Texas Court Reporters
Association; and
WHEREAS, In November 2010, following his retirement,
Mr. Wilson became court administrator for the Llano County
Court-at-Law; two years later, he was elected county commissioner
for Precinct 3, and over the past four years, he has dedicated
himself to addressing the needs of area residents and to helping
prepare Llano County for the challenges and opportunities that lie
ahead; over the course of his tenure, he has served as a valued
member of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee of the Capital Area
Council of Governments, and he has been actively involved in the
biannual Countywide Clean-up; he has also given generously of his
time and energies as the veterans service officer for Llano County;
and
WHEREAS, The well-being of our communities is enhanced
immeasurably by the efforts of skilled and committed public
officials, and Ron Wilson may indeed take pride in his record of
service to Llano County; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Ron Wilson for his outstanding work as a
Llano County commissioner and extend to him sincere best wishes for
the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Wilson as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
