H.R. No. 259
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 157 in Corpus
Christi is celebrating its 50th anniversary on February 5, 2017;
and
WHEREAS, Chartered by St. Pius X Catholic Church, Troop 157
has made immeasurable contributions to the lives of its members by
providing an educational program that builds character, promotes
personal fitness, and trains participants in the responsibilities
of citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, 125 members of the troop have
attained the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor conferred by the
Boy Scouts of America, and more still have earned religious emblems
of the Catholic Church; and
WHEREAS, For half a century, Troop 157 has provided local
youth with opportunities to discover and enjoy the outdoors,
develop important leadership skills, and perform valuable
community service, and it is indeed fitting to join in recognizing
this notable milestone in the group's history; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of the
establishment of Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 157 in Corpus
Christi and extend to its members and leaders sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the troop as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
