| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Pat Menville of Houston has greatly benefited her |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A voluntary homeowners group, the SCA is dedicated |

| 9 | 10 | | to the betterment of Sharpstown, a master-planned community |

| 10 | 11 | | established in 1955 that remains one of the country's largest |

| 11 | 12 | | subdivisions; the civic association provides a variety of services, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | including deed restriction enforcement, security patrols, mosquito |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | fogging, neighborhood beautification initiatives, a newsletter, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | and monthly meetings featuring programs of interest to residents; |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Menville has provided dedicated leadership to |

| 17 | 18 | | the SCA for the 2016-2017 term; she has been active with the |

| 18 | 19 | | association since 2013 as a volunteer and director, and she |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | previously served as chair of the deed restriction committee; as a |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | longtime local resident, she works especially hard to facilitate |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | strong communication by the board and to increase membership in the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | group; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The strength and vibrancy of our communities are |

| 24 | 25 | | enhanced by the devoted efforts of individuals such as Pat |

| 25 | 26 | | Menville, whose tireless work has contributed immeasurably to the |

| 26 | 27 | | quality of life in Sharpstown; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend Pat Menville for her service as |
