45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of
67 Texas, 85th Legislature, Regular Session, 2017, That House Rule 13,
78 Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 13,
89 Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to
910 resolve the differences on House Bill 555 (an additional fee for
1011 issuing a marriage license to applicants who are not residents of
1112 this state and the form of a marriage license and application for a
1213 marriage license) to consider and take action on the following
1314 matter:
1415 House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(1), is suspended to permit the
1516 committee to amend text not in disagreement in proposed SECTION 6 of
1617 the bill to read as follows:
1718 SECTION 6. The change in law made by this Act applies only
1819 to a marriage license issued on or after January 1, 2019. A
1920 marriage license issued before January 1, 2019, is governed by the
2021 law in effect immediately before the effective date of this Act, and
2122 the former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
2223 Explanation: This change is necessary to delay
2324 implementation of the bill until January 1, 2019.
