 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Frank Ramirez Jr. of San Antonio has dedicated his
 life to the service of his country and his community; and
 WHEREAS, Born in San Antonio, Mr. Ramirez grew up on the
 south side of the city, and after graduating from Harlandale High
 School in 1978, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly
 served for four years; upon his return to civilian life, he helped
 manage the family business his father founded in 1971, Ramirez
 Roofing; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Ramirez went on to answer his nation's call to
 duty once again, and for the past 18 years, he has served as a member
 of the U.S. Air Force in a number of locations throughout the world,
 including Iraq, where he completed a tour in 2011; he is currently a
 chief master sergeant, a rank that is attained by only one percent
 of enlisted personnel, and he is an honored member of the 149th
 Civil Engineer Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio; and
 WHEREAS, An inspiring example of civic engagement as well,
 Mr. Ramirez gives generously of his time and energy to Toys for Tots
 and the YMCA; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Ramirez enjoys the love
 and support of his wife of 21 years, Leticia Ramirez, and he
 delights in spending time with his children, Frank and Lauren, and
 his grandson, Landon; he also counts hunting and fishing, playing
 baseball, and rooting for the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas
 Cowboys among his favorite pursuits; and
 WHEREAS, Frank Ramirez has set an inspiring example for
 others through his military and community service, and his efforts
 are indeed deserving of our respect and gratitude; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Frank Ramirez Jr. for his exemplary
 service to his state and nation and extend to him sincere best
 wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Ramirez as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
