| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Each Houston super neighborhood elects a council |

| 10 | 11 | | composed of area residents and other stakeholders who meet |

| 11 | 12 | | regularly to discuss issues, set priorities, and implement projects |

| 12 | 13 | | of mutual benefit for the area; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Situated in southwest Houston just outside Loop 610, |

| 14 | 15 | | Gulfton is an area of apartment complexes and single-family homes; |

| 15 | 16 | | originally developed as Westmoreland Farms, Gulfton is home to many |

| 16 | 17 | | recent immigrants from Mexico and Latin America; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Sandra Rodriguez has lived in Gulfton for more than |

| 18 | 19 | | 10 years, and she is a recognized leader in the community, serving |

| 19 | 20 | | as president of the Gulfton Citizen's Advisory Council since 2008 |

| 20 | 21 | | and playing a leading role in the annual Gulfton Parade and |

| 21 | 22 | | Festival; she was elected as president of the Super Neighborhood |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | No. 27--Gulfton council in November 2015; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, An employee of the Houston Health Department since |

| 24 | 25 | | 2007, Ms. Rodriguez is a 1998 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School |

| 25 | 26 | | in Baytown and a 2012 graduate of Springfield College in |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Massachusetts; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Through her leadership, dedication, and community |

| 28 | 29 | | spirit, Sandra Rodriguez has earned the respect of her fellow |

| 29 | 30 | | neighborhood residents and council members, and she is indeed |

| 30 | 31 | | deserving of recognition for her exemplary efforts; now, therefore, |
