| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |

| 6 | 7 | | only a select few, and the attainment of this significant honor by |

| 7 | 8 | | Joseph Reyes of Kountze heralds a future bright with opportunity |

| 8 | 9 | | and promise; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In his quest to become an Eagle Scout, Mr. Reyes has |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | mastered a number of important skills; he has earned the required 21 |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | merit badges and successfully completed an Eagle Scout project in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | which he built two tables for the Beaumont Police Department's |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | firing range, benefiting the department, the Federal Bureau of |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Investigation, and other Southeast Texas law enforcement agencies |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | that use the training facility; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The son of Joseph and Orfanery Reyes, Mr. Reyes is a |

| 17 | 18 | | homeschool student; he participates actively in Infant Jesus |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Catholic Church, where he is the lead altar server and a member of |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | both the youth group and the youth band; he also assists Bishop |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Curtis J. Guillory, of the Diocese of Beaumont, as an episcopal |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | altar server; in his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | martial arts, and playing guitar, drums, and the piano; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has served his peers in Boy |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Scout Troop No. 88 in a designated position of responsibility, and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | in so doing, he has exemplified the many positive traits for which |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Boy Scouts are renowned; he plans to join the U.S. Air Force after |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | graduation and to become an electrical engineer working in the |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | field of robotics; and |

| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Joseph Reyes has demonstrated |

| 31 | 32 | | an unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts organization and its |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the |

| 33 | 34 | | way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, |

| 35 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
