H.R. No. 265
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by
only a select few, and the attainment of this significant honor by
Joseph Reyes of Kountze heralds a future bright with opportunity
and promise; and
WHEREAS, In his quest to become an Eagle Scout, Mr. Reyes has
mastered a number of important skills; he has earned the required 21
merit badges and successfully completed an Eagle Scout project in
which he built two tables for the Beaumont Police Department's
firing range, benefiting the department, the Federal Bureau of
Investigation, and other Southeast Texas law enforcement agencies
that use the training facility; and
WHEREAS, The son of Joseph and Orfanery Reyes, Mr. Reyes is a
homeschool student; he participates actively in Infant Jesus
Catholic Church, where he is the lead altar server and a member of
both the youth group and the youth band; he also assists Bishop
Curtis J. Guillory, of the Diocese of Beaumont, as an episcopal
altar server; in his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities,
martial arts, and playing guitar, drums, and the piano; and
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has served his peers in Boy
Scout Troop No. 88 in a designated position of responsibility, and
in so doing, he has exemplified the many positive traits for which
Boy Scouts are renowned; he plans to join the U.S. Air Force after
graduation and to become an electrical engineer working in the
field of robotics; and
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Joseph Reyes has demonstrated
an unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts organization and its
ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the
way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Joseph Reyes on achieving this
prestigious rank and extend to him sincere best wishes for
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Eagle Scout Reyes as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
