| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will treasure their memories of |

| 6 | 7 | | Sam Fore Keach Jr., who passed away on May 23, 2017, at the age of |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Sam Keach was born in Edinburg on January 1, 1967, to |

| 9 | 10 | | Sam Keach Sr. and Vicki Keach; an Eagle Scout, he graduated from |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Robstown High School and went on to earn a degree at Southwest Texas |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | State University; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, In 1993, Mr. Keach was joined in matrimony to Kristy |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Champagne, and the couple shared their lives for nearly 24 years; he |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | was the proud father of two daughters, Katelyn and Kailey; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Keach was ranch manager for Brooks Ranch, and he |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | was also actively engaged in the life of his community as assistant |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | chief of the Swinney Switch Volunteer Fire Department, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | superintendent of the cattle division of the Live Oak County Fair |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Board, and assistant secretary of the George West Independent |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | School District board; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In his free time, Mr. Keach enjoyed attending |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | barbecue cook-offs, mentoring students, participating in livestock |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | shows, and helping his daughters tend their lambs and goats; he was |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | a member of First United Methodist Church of George West; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Sam Keach lived a life that was rich in family, |

| 26 | 27 | | friends, and community service, and those fortunate enough to share |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | in his love and affection will forever hold him close in their |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Sam Fore Keach Jr. |
