H.R. No. 2663
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends will treasure their memories of
Sam Fore Keach Jr., who passed away on May 23, 2017, at the age of
50; and
WHEREAS, Sam Keach was born in Edinburg on January 1, 1967, to
Sam Keach Sr. and Vicki Keach; an Eagle Scout, he graduated from
Robstown High School and went on to earn a degree at Southwest Texas
State University; and
WHEREAS, In 1993, Mr. Keach was joined in matrimony to Kristy
Champagne, and the couple shared their lives for nearly 24 years; he
was the proud father of two daughters, Katelyn and Kailey; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Keach was ranch manager for Brooks Ranch, and he
was also actively engaged in the life of his community as assistant
chief of the Swinney Switch Volunteer Fire Department,
superintendent of the cattle division of the Live Oak County Fair
Board, and assistant secretary of the George West Independent
School District board; and
WHEREAS, In his free time, Mr. Keach enjoyed attending
barbecue cook-offs, mentoring students, participating in livestock
shows, and helping his daughters tend their lambs and goats; he was
a member of First United Methodist Church of George West; and
WHEREAS, Sam Keach lived a life that was rich in family,
friends, and community service, and those fortunate enough to share
in his love and affection will forever hold him close in their
hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Sam Fore Keach Jr.
and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his
wife, Kristy Keach; to his daughters, Katelyn and Kailey Keach; to
his parents, Sam and Vicki Keach; to his brother, Darrell Keach, and
his wife, Wendy; to his sister, Kim Eddy, and her husband, Morris;
to his brothers-in-law, Kyle and Keith Champagne; and to his other
relatives and many friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sam Fore
Keach Jr.
