45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Roxanne Soheyla Meraji has ably served her fellow
67 Texans as an intern and policy analyst in the office of State
78 Representative Tomas Uresti during the 85th Legislative Session;
89 and
910 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Meraji has provided
1011 vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks;
1112 in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public
1213 service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the
1314 issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and
1415 WHEREAS, A native of Eagle Pass, Ms. Meraji attended The
1516 University of Texas at Austin on a full academic scholarship, and
1617 she graduated with a bachelor's degree in government and philosophy
1718 in May 2017; while completing her studies, she chaired the
1819 university's mock trial team and served as an officer in the Phi
1920 Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity; she plans to attend law school and
2021 to pursue a career as an attorney and judge; and
2122 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
2223 duties as a legislative intern and policy analyst with skill and
2324 dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for
2425 her fine work; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby commend Roxanne Soheyla Meraji for her service
2728 as a legislative intern and policy analyst in the office of State
2829 Representative Tomas Uresti and extend to her sincere best wishes
2930 for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Ms. Meraji as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3233 House of Representatives.
