H.R. No. 2714 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Roxanne Soheyla Meraji has ably served her fellow Texans as an intern and policy analyst in the office of State Representative Tomas Uresti during the 85th Legislative Session; and WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Meraji has provided vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and WHEREAS, A native of Eagle Pass, Ms. Meraji attended The University of Texas at Austin on a full academic scholarship, and she graduated with a bachelor's degree in government and philosophy in May 2017; while completing her studies, she chaired the university's mock trial team and served as an officer in the Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity; she plans to attend law school and to pursue a career as an attorney and judge; and WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her duties as a legislative intern and policy analyst with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby commend Roxanne Soheyla Meraji for her service as a legislative intern and policy analyst in the office of State Representative Tomas Uresti and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Meraji as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
