| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |

| 6 | 7 | | mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Walter and Ruth Drake |

| 7 | 8 | | of Waco celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on |

| 8 | 9 | | December 17, 2016; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Drake were joined in matrimony in 1966 |

| 10 | 11 | | at First Baptist Church Heights in Houston; over the years, they |

| 11 | 12 | | have been blessed with a treasured family that includes their two |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | sons, Darren and his wife, Christine, and Randall and his wife, |

| 13 | 14 | | Misty, as well as their five grandchildren, Amelia, Katie, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Juliette, Caroline, and Zachary; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Drake |

| 16 | 17 | | worked as a teacher and administrator with the Speegleville and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Midway school districts for 41 years before retiring in 2007, and |

| 18 | 19 | | Mrs. Drake retired in 2010 after 32 years of employment with the |

| 19 | 20 | | Moody Memorial Library at Baylor University; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Drake have enjoyed five decades of |

| 21 | 22 | | abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |

| 22 | 23 | | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |

| 23 | 24 | | commitment; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Walter and Ruth Drake on their 50th |
