R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Nola Maresh of Edinburg was crowned Little Miss
Galaxy 2017 at the Jr. Galaxy International Pageant, which was held
August 10-14, 2016, in Orlando, Florida; and
WHEREAS, Selected from a field of talented contestants from
across the United States and around the world, Nola Maresh excelled
during each round of the pageant, which included personal
interview, fashion wear, evening gown, and photo categories; she
earned the exciting opportunity to represent the Lone Star State at
the international level after being named Little Miss Texas Galaxy
2016; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Jody and Erika Maresh, this
accomplished young Texan is a second-grader at Norma Linda Treviño
Elementary School, and in her free time, she enjoys fishing with her
dad, singing, drawing, playing soccer, and volunteering; and
WHEREAS, At each level of pageant competition, Nola Maresh
has demonstrated exceptional poise and confidence, and she is
indeed deserving of recognition for winning this prestigious title;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Nola Maresh on being crowned Little
Miss Galaxy 2017 and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Nola Maresh as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
