| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |

| 6 | 7 | | by a great and enduring love, Willard and Dianna Davis of Lorena |

| 7 | 8 | | celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 14, 2017; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Davis met at Waco High School, and they |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | married at the bride's home in Waco in 1967; the couple were blessed |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | with four children, Kevin, Cyndi, Darrin, and Jill, and today their |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | family includes nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; |

| 12 | 13 | | and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Davis |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | worked as a local truck driver for Roadway, and Mrs. Davis is |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | retired from the Lorena Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |

| 17 | 18 | | half century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 22 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Willard and Dianna Davis on their |

| 23 | 24 | | 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
