H.R. No. 382
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Willard and Dianna Davis of Lorena
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 14, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Davis met at Waco High School, and they
married at the bride's home in Waco in 1967; the couple were blessed
with four children, Kevin, Cyndi, Darrin, and Jill, and today their
family includes nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Davis
worked as a local truck driver for Roadway, and Mrs. Davis is
retired from the Lorena Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past
half century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant
in their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love
has enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with
grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Willard and Dianna Davis on their
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
