| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The members of Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church in |

| 7 | 8 | | Landry Sr. for 10 years of dedicated service to that congregation; |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Long affiliated with the church, Dr. Landry was |

| 10 | 11 | | licensed to preach in 1993 and ordained seven years later; he was |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | appointed pastor in 2007, the same year that he earned his doctoral |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | degree in divinity from the Inter-Baptist Theological Center in |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Houston; he also holds doctorates from the Inter-Baptist |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Theological Seminary in Louisiana and from the Conroe Theological |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Institute; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Landry has served his faith in a number of |

| 17 | 18 | | leadership positions, including dean for the Conroe Baptist |

| 18 | 19 | | Theological Institute Houston Extension and president and dean of |

| 19 | 20 | | Mt. Zion Travelers Seminary; in addition, he has been first vice |

| 20 | 21 | | president of the American Progressive Baptist Association of Texas |

| 21 | 22 | | and dean of the Union Baptist District Association of Texas; he has |

| 22 | 23 | | also volunteered as a chaplain for the Texas Department of Criminal |

| 23 | 24 | | Justice, and he has taught at both the Open Door Mission homeless |

| 24 | 25 | | shelter and the Canal Street Apartments for low-income adults; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This inspiring clergyman has led Oak Hill Missionary |

| 26 | 27 | | Baptist Church with conviction and compassion, and he has earned |

| 27 | 28 | | the lasting respect and admiration of his congregants as well as |

| 28 | 29 | | members of the greater community; now, therefore, be it |
