H.R. No. 390
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An Argentine delegation sponsored by the American
Council of Young Political Leaders is visiting the State Capitol
the week of February 12, 2017, and this occasion provides a fitting
opportunity to honor the council for its efforts to promote
understanding among the world's future policy makers; and
WHEREAS, A nonprofit educational exchange organization,
ACYPL conducts a number of programs designed to acquaint
participants with the politics, history, culture, governance, and
policy making of countries around the world; the aim is to help
next-generation leaders develop a more informed perspective on
other societies and on issues of regional or global importance;
since its inception in 1966, ACYPL has conducted exchanges in more
than 120 countries, and today it boasts some 8,000 alumni
worldwide; and
WHEREAS, The Argentine delegation that is visiting Texas is
composed of Manuel Godoy, a lawyer in the office of the secretary of
state of Salta province; the Honorable Rodrigo López Molina, a
provincial representative in the Santa Fe Chamber of Deputies;
Camilo Vaca Narvaja, a parliamentary adviser to National Chamber of
Deputies member Remo Carlotto; Gisela Yanina Ortiz, counseling
coordinator for the president of the NCD Foreign Affairs and
Religious Committee; Federico Pellegrini, an economist at the Bank
of the Province of Buenos Aires; the Honorable Vanesa Zuccari, a
provincial representative in the Buenos Aires Chamber of Deputies;
and Nicolás Iermoli, the private secretary for the director of the
Institute of Parliamentary Training; and
WHEREAS, ACYPL is dedicated to fostering respectful,
informed, and constructive dialogue concerning the challenges of
our day, and it is indeed a pleasure to welcome members of the next
generation of political leaders to the Lone Star State; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the American Council of Young Political
Leaders for its commitment to advancing international cooperation
and understanding and extend to the delegation from Argentina
sincere best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable visit; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
for the Argentine delegation as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
