H.R. No. 441
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jeannene Bryant concluded an outstanding tenure as
the proprietor of Margie's Flower and Gift Shop in Lamesa in January
2017; and
WHEREAS, Opened in 1965, the business was purchased by
Ms. Bryant and her husband, Don, on May 1, 1989; and
WHEREAS, Though they intended to run the enterprise together,
Mr. Bryant was hired by Caprock Federal Credit Union soon after the
couple acquired the shop; Ms. Bryant went on to oversee daily
operations for more than a quarter century, brightening many days
with floral arrangements lovingly crafted for a host of special
occasions; and
WHEREAS, By helping her customers commemorate important
milestones, Jeannene Bryant has provided a great service to the
Lamesa community, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her many
accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her
life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Jeannene Bryant for her nearly 27 years as
the proprietor of Margie's Flower and Gift Shop and extend to her
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Bryant as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
