| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Pastor L. D. Lee Sr., founder of Greater Vision |

| 6 | 7 | | Church in Houston, is celebrating 30 years in the ministry in 2017; |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, L. D. Lee graduated from |

| 9 | 10 | | Jack Yates High School and went on to study at the University of |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Houston; in 2003, after serving as a pastor for five years, he |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | established his own house of worship; Greater Vision Church first |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | opened its doors with 300 members, and through the years, the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | congregation has continued to grow in number; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Gifted with a dynamic and engaging preaching style, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Pastor Lee has shared the gospel throughout the country, and he has |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | lectured, preached, and taught abroad at many conferences, |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | revivals, retreats, and university campuses; he has received |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | recognition at home for his work as a spiritual leader, having been |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | named one of "America's Most Loved Pastors" by Gospel Today |

| 20 | 21 | | magazine, and he has been featured in a host of other local |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | publications; in addition to his service in the pulpit, he is active |

| 22 | 23 | | in the Minister's Alliance for the City of Marshall; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Lee is supported in all his endeavors by his |

| 24 | 25 | | wife, First Lady Alfredia D. Lee, who has given generously of her |

| 25 | 26 | | time and talents in behalf of the church since its inception; they |

| 26 | 27 | | are the parents of three cherished children, Kennedy, Karrington, |

| 27 | 28 | | and L. D. Lee II; and |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his career in the ministry, |

| 29 | 30 | | Pastor L. D. Lee has inspired and uplifted many people, and it is |

| 30 | 31 | | indeed a pleasure to recognize this outstanding clergyman on this |

| 31 | 32 | | noteworthy milestone in his life; now, therefore, be it |

| 32 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 33 | 34 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Pastor L. D. Lee Sr. on his 30th |
