H.R. No. 636
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Pastor L. D. Lee Sr., founder of Greater Vision
Church in Houston, is celebrating 30 years in the ministry in 2017;
and
WHEREAS, A native of the Bayou City, L. D. Lee graduated from
Jack Yates High School and went on to study at the University of
Houston; in 2003, after serving as a pastor for five years, he
established his own house of worship; Greater Vision Church first
opened its doors with 300 members, and through the years, the
congregation has continued to grow in number; and
WHEREAS, Gifted with a dynamic and engaging preaching style,
Pastor Lee has shared the gospel throughout the country, and he has
lectured, preached, and taught abroad at many conferences,
revivals, retreats, and university campuses; he has received
recognition at home for his work as a spiritual leader, having been
named one of "America's Most Loved Pastors" by Gospel Today
magazine, and he has been featured in a host of other local
publications; in addition to his service in the pulpit, he is active
in the Minister's Alliance for the City of Marshall; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lee is supported in all his endeavors by his
wife, First Lady Alfredia D. Lee, who has given generously of her
time and talents in behalf of the church since its inception; they
are the parents of three cherished children, Kennedy, Karrington,
and L. D. Lee II; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career in the ministry,
Pastor L. D. Lee has inspired and uplifted many people, and it is
indeed a pleasure to recognize this outstanding clergyman on this
noteworthy milestone in his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Pastor L. D. Lee Sr. on his 30th
pastoral anniversary and extend to him sincere best wishes for
continued success with his important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Pastor Lee as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
