 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Frankie Sprabary received an honorary diploma from
 Lewisville High School at a ceremony conducted on February 6, 2017,
 and it is indeed a pleasure to recognize this esteemed member of the
 Class of 1946; and
 WHEREAS, During the final semester of her senior year, the
 former Frankie Lester was returning home from a movie in Denton with
 her high school sweetheart, H. L. "Abe" Sprabary, when their car was
 struck by a drunk driver; her future husband was able to graduate,
 but her injuries prevented her from completing her courses; and
 WHEREAS, The couple married after Mrs. Sprabary recovered
 from the accident, and they became the parents of four children,
 Larry, Aleshia, Amilia, and Paul; Mr. Sprabary's career in the U.S.
 Air Force took them to North Africa, Italy, Germany, and France, and
 Mrs. Sprabary, trained as an opera singer, joined the Air Force
 Choir and performed in churches across the United States as well as
 in Europe; she is also a self-taught pianist, organist, and
 painter; and
 WHEREAS, In 1976, the family returned to Lewisville, and
 following Mr. Sprabary's untimely death, Mrs. Sprabary took on the
 role of breadwinner, assisting home-schooled children; she is a
 charter member of Temple Baptist Church, where she was the featured
 soloist for two decades; in addition, she has supported historic
 preservation, serving on the board of Chinn's Chapel and helping to
 compile a book on the 19th-century country church; and
 WHEREAS, Although her formal education was interrupted,
 Mrs. Sprabary has always been an avid learner, and she instilled
 the love of knowledge and reading in her children, all college
 graduates; her family has grown through the years to include four
 grandchildren, Chris, Victoria, and Autumn Sprabary and Olivia
 Ceniceros, along with a great-grandchild, Skylar Sprabary; and
 WHEREAS, Frankie Sprabary has met life's challenges with
 grace, wisdom, and determination, and she is a source of
 inspiration to all who are fortunate enough to know her; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Frankie Sprabary on her receipt of
 an honorary diploma from Lewisville High School and extend to her
 sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mrs. Sprabary as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
